it is exactly 4 months ago that we had sat together for barbeque before meise and i had left for the airport.
yesterday and today i took some time to draw this map of southeas asia showing our route.
from time to time memories from the trip still make me smile – hope you out there have your own fantastic experiences.
… see you at the diashow soon!
greetings from berlin
hello germany. we are back home. – just to note: the last 2 days we stayed in k.c. guesthouse which is really nice: family atmosphere, clean and cheap rooms (350 bath for a big double with fan and wc/shower). they also arranged a minibus to take us to the airport (150 baht each). – on the flight we had mjammi food (4 times) and watched various movies: ‘oceans 11, 12, 13’ (did almost managed to the all 3, meise part three) and ‘pirates of the karibean 3′. after 13 hours flighttime we arrived in berlin this morning. alex and rossi gave us a warm welcome at the airport and took us home for breakfast. people are wearing long trousers and jackets – strange…! – the next days we will sort out all the good pictures and maybe there will be a diashow for interested people. wait for the annoucement.
okay. we are finished. the last days went by very fast. we had a really good time i guess. thanks again to khom for saving our life in the explosion-situation at the evening meal.., thanks to the bumpy bustrip from siam reap to bangkok and thanks to new siam 2 hotel for the very best baguettes and biggest fruit shakes in town (we have been there twice these days). – so, in some minutes we are fetched up by minibus to the airport and let’s see if there are still 42 degrees in doha. – see you later in cold rainy germany. – this is the last entry in south east asia from meise and tp.
sihanoukville is gone, we moved up to siem reap. the city is very very nice, it’s very hot and there’s a lot to see – of course the famous angkor temples, today we spent a whole funny day there, look at the pictures…
tomorrow our bus to bangkok will catch us early in the morning, so see you fresh and fruity in bangkok. germany we are coming!
sihanoukville kept us for some more days. it is really nice to go swimming here. this is the moment where we have to correct a thing: the water temperature is 29 to 30 degrees not as said before cold 25 degrees. we got in touch with the locals a bit more; the motoguys tell about their family and everydays life and on the foodstall in the town we eat delicious fried noodels (with vegetables and beef) or a noodle resp. rice soup like today. whenever you are around also try the fresh seefood from the market and the amok (some kind of cambodian curry) – you will love it.
tomorrow morning we leave to go to siam reap. we take the public bus for $3.50.
@makara: please send me a message where we can meet up!
the rest of the time we spent in the water. i (tobi) went for 2 dives some days ago while meise was snorkling on top of me :)
but after he got catched by it and now…… we call meise an official “padi open water diver”. within 3 days he made his course! $285. yeah! – in between i went swimming or visiting the ream nationalpark (boattour and half-an-hour junglewalk, not so exciting but okay, $15).
meise is doing the rescue jump…?
from phnom penh it took us to sihanoukville which is at the southwest coast of cambodia at the gulf of thailand.
we drew a professional map, so you can find us.
we like to introduce you to our new friend. he enjoys it to live with us in the simple bungaloo in the bathroom.
on the day we go swimming next to where we stay. the water temperature is around 25 degrees or even more – so we don’t freeze a bit.
in the evening this is what gives us absolution:
sometimes you can see a crazy jumping barracuda next to the beach.
in the town there is a nice market with fresh fish of any kind and mjammi fruits as you can see here:
